Chinanews, Beijing, September 20 – Following Boeing, the China Aviation Industry Corporation I (CAICI) released its estimation on the Chinese civil aircraft market, saying that by 2026, China will need 3,365 new aircraft, including 2,467 large jets and 898 smaller ones.
Boeing estimated that China would need only 330 new small aircraft in the next 20 years. However, according to Wang Boxue, a researcher on the aviation industry of China, Boeing’s estimation doesn’t include propeller1 aircraft. Besides, CAICI believes that many local airlines in China will have a very good business, so they might need to buy more small aircraft. The CAICI is also confident in becoming one of the major aircraft suppliers in China with its Xinzhou-60 and ARJ21 series. Now, CAICI has received orders for 98 Xinzhou-60s and 71 ARJ21s. It has also founded a regional airline company jointly2 with the China Eastern Airlines, which will need at least 10 Xinzhou-10 aircraft.
