The French government has decided1 to sell a just under 50 percent stake in the Toulouse Blagnac airport in southwestern France to a Chinese-led consortium in a deal worth close to 380-million US dollars.
法国政府决定将法国西南部的图卢兹机场49%的股份出售给一家中国财团,该交易价值接近3.8亿美元。
This photo, dated May 27, 2009, shows an outside view of the Toulouse Blagnac airport, south western France. The consortium includes the Shandong Hi-Speed Group and Hong Kong-based investment company Friedmann Pacific.
Put up for sale in July, the stake in the French airport has attracted interest from a range of companies from different parts of the world.
The French government, which had owned 60 percent of the airport, has an option to sell its remaining 10.01 percent stake, but has no plans to exercise the option at this point.
The infrastructure2 at the airport, namely the runway and buildings, will remain French state property.
The Toulouse-Blagnac airport is home to Airbus, which tests its aircraft at the airport.
For more on the deal, we are now joined live by Mike Bastin, Director of The China Business Centre based in London.
