The winners of the 69th British Academy¹ Film Awards or the BAFTAs have just been unveiled.

"The Revenant" claimed the best film award at the show held in London on Sunday.

Lead actor Leonardo Di Caprio won Best actor, and director² Alejandro Inarritu picked up Best Director award.

Brie Larson won Best Actress for her performance in "Room", beating the likes of Cate Blanchett, Saoirse Ronan, Maggie Smith and Alicia Vikander.

Kate Winslet won Best Supporting Actress, while Mark Rylance scooping³ Best Supporting Actor.

The first award of the show, for Outstanding British Film went to "Brooklyn".

This year's BAFTAs - the biggest film awards outside the U.S took place at London's Royal Opera House in Covent Garden.

It was hosted by comedian⁴ and writer, Stephen Fry.
