The Dagaoxuan Taoist Temple, Beijing's only imperial Taoist building cluster, located on the northwest corner of the Palace Museum, is to open to the public in three years.

The 475-year-old construction was damaged by French forces about a century ago, and has been possessed¹ by various government departments for many years.

The Administration of Cultural Heritage has approved 126 million yuan, or 18.3 million US dollars, in investment to renovate² the temple and promote the surrounding environment between now and 2035.

The Hall will accommodate up to 4060 visitors daily. It will take tourists 30 to 90 minutes to tour the facility.
