China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) on Wednesday said it has allocated1 relief fund totaling 177 million yuan (about 26 million U.S. dollars) for the flood-hit Shandong Province.
中国国家发展和改革委员会周三表示,已拨付总计1.77亿元人民币(2600百万美元)用于山东省洪灾救济金。
The fund was part of the central government's budget investment for disaster relief and emergency
subsidies2, which will be used for restoring
infrastructure3 and public facilities in the disaster-hit regions, according to the NDRC.
Shandong has suffered from severe floods after Typhoon Rumbia, the 18th this year, brought heavy rains to the
coastal4 province. As of Aug. 23, at least 3.8 million people were
affected5, with six dead and 15 missing, according to local authorities.
