Sixty firefighting robots were handed over to local authorities in the city of Ningde in southeast China's Fujian Province on Wednesday, reports Chinanews.com.

The robots were developed by Kaicheng Intelligence, a subsidiary of CITIC Heavy industries. The robots were manufactured at the company's factory in Ningde, which is set to produce more than 10 different types of fire-fighting robots.

 

A drill was held at the handover ceremony to demonstrate the firefighting abilities of the robots, which can detect fires, extract smoke, and spray water and fire-suppressing foam¹.
