Chinanews, Urumqi, Sept. 13 – Four wild horses were killed in traffic accidents in 20 days in Xinjiang. These wild horses belong to the category of first-class national protected animals. The wild species1 was already extinct2 in the 1970s, and the four wild horses were again introduced from Britain in the 1980s.
Most roads in Xinjiang don’t have tunnels for the passage of wild animals, and one of the drivers had run away immediately after the accident occurred. He was arrested on Sept. 9, and the case was put under investigation3.
