Chinanews, Zhengzhou, Oct. 12 – Some 256 foxes were recently scared to death by noise. Their owner 66-year-old Mr. Xue sued1 local government and won the court case. The judge ruled on Tuesday that the local government and the highway construction company together should pay 104 thousand yuan compensation2 for Xue’s loss3.
Xue began raising foxes in 1992, and he had had nearly 1,000 foxes by 2005. When the local highway construction company asked Xue to move his fox warren away, Xue required that the company give him compensation in return and met with refusal4 by the latter. Xue said the company suddenly destroyed his fox warren in Jul. 2005. Many foxes were upset by the noise, and finally all the 256 foxes died. He said he had suffered 100 thousand yuan of economic loss.
