Chinanews, Changsha, October 25 – The Laughing Group, a student organization founded by Liu Hao of Hunan Radio and Television University, conducted their first community gathering1 on October 23, 2007, to pass sweet smiles around.
However, most passers-by just ignored the students' request for smiling with them that day.
“I want to restore2 the smiles to the faces of people around me, who have sacrificed so much simple happiness due3 to the fast life pace now. That's why I sponsored4 the Group,” said Li.
At previous members-only gatherings5, they held comic dialogues or made faces to make each others laugh. Though many people still doubt whether their gatherings can be effective, many students in Liu's college saw eye to eye with him on this point and joined the group.
