China's consumer price index (CPI) , a main gauge¹ of inflation,rose 0.9 percent year on year in January, down from the 1.5-percent increase a month ago, the National Bureau of Statistics said Wednesday.

国家统计局16日发布数据，1月份，全国居民消费价格指数（CPI）同比上涨0.9%，涨幅比上月回落0.6个百分点。CPI是衡量通货膨胀的重要指标之一。

 

A breakdown² of the data showed that food prices dropped 3.8 percent year on year, a decline 2.6 percentage points higher than that in December 2021.

其中食品价格同比下降3.8%，降幅比上月扩大2.6个百分点。

 

The price of pork，slumped 41.6 percent year on year, compared with a 36.7-percent decrease a month ago.

猪肉价格下降41.6%，降幅扩大4.9个百分点。

 

Non-food prices rose 2 percent from a year earlier, eased from the 2.1-percent increase reported in the previous month.

非食品价格上涨2.0%，涨幅比上月回落0.1个百分点。

 

The core CPI, which excludes food and energy prices, gained 1.2 percent year on year, flat with a month ago.

扣除食品和能源价格的核心CPI同比上涨1.2%，涨幅与上月相同。

 

Wednesday's data also showed the country's producer price index went up 9.1 percent year on year in January.

周三公布的数据还显示，全国工业生产者出厂价格指数（PPI）同比上涨9.1%。
