Microsoft has confirmed that it is axing the Internet Explorer browser1 from Windows 10, putting an end to rumors2 that have been circulating since last December.
微软已证实,IE浏览器将从Windows 10中去除,结束了自去年12月就一直在流传的谣言。
Microsoft's marketing3 head Chris Capossela announced at the Convergence event on Monday that the company is working on a new browser currently code named "Project Spartan4".
Microsoft has yet to decide on an official name for the new browser, which it says will look more like Google's Chrome and be faster than IE.
While "Spartan" will be the main way for users to access the internet, IE will continue to exist in some versions of Windows 10 for comparability purposes.
Windows 10 is set to be launched in autumn of this year.
