Rio de Janeiro's city government has announced the completion of construction work on three new Olympic venues¹.

里约热内卢城市政府宣布，三处新奥运场馆的建设工作已经完成。

The recently finished structures are Future Arena², which will stage handball and goal-ball, the canoe slalom course and the golf course, Rio's prefecture said in a statement on Wednesday.

The BMX and mountain bike tracks were completed earlier this year, taking the number of finished venues to five.

Meanwhile, work at the three Carioca Arenas³ - which will host basketball, judo⁴, fencing and taekwondo in addition to Paralympic sports - surpassed 90%.

Overall work at the Rio Olympic Park was 94% complete, the statement said.
