About 95% of construction work at Rio de Janeiro's two major Olympic venue¹ clusters has been concluded, the official Agencia Brasil news service said on Monday.

Six venues² have been completed: Future Arena³ (handball and goalball), the international broadcast center, the golf course, the mountain bike track, the BMX track and the canoe slalom course.

The venues are located at Olympic Park and Deodoro Park, both in Rio's west.

Olympic Park will host 16 Olympic and nine Paralympic events. Among the most advanced venues at the complex are the Carioca 3 (98%) and Carioca 2 (97%) arenas⁴ while the velodrome is only 76% ready.

The aquatic⁵ venue is "practically finished, needing only some final touches," while the the tennis center is about 90% finished, the government-backed service said.

At Deodoro, the hockey center is 99% ready while theYouth Arena is just 75% complete.

Deodoro will host 11 Olympic and four Paralympic events.
