Chinanews, Beijing, July 18 - Volunteer recruitment work for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games was launched on last June 18. Since then, more than 110 thousand people have submitted their applications, most of them being young people.
Males take up 39% of the applicants1, and 70% of applicants are college students or college graduates. About 41.9% of them have more than 2 professional skills. English is the second language of 76% of them. More than 52% of them are willing to do the consultancy work, and 34% wish to take the responsibility of emergency handling. Only 13.6% want to work as interpreters or translators. BOCOG says that the number of applicants is satifactory, and the proportion of applicants is appropriate.
