Jan.28 - Beijing will apply a low price policy to the ticket sales for the 2008 Olympic Games and 14% of the cheapest tickets will be reserved for the country's youth, The Beijing News reports.
Liu Jingmin, the Executive1 Vice2 President of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2008 Olympic Games (BOCOG) and Vice Mayor3 of Beijing, announced the policy at a meeting on Saturday. The Vice Mayor said they will aside the tickets for the country's youth because they are the future, they need to learn about the world and make friends with people from other countries and ethnicities. Meanwhile, Liu Jingmin also confirmed that at least half of the Olympic opening and closing ceremony tickets will be sold to ordinary people. Starting from this year, organizers will gather information from China and other countries to determine the demand for tickets for each event and adjust the number of tickets accordingly4.
